At 27 he started a manufacturing mill in Spain (technical textiles),
registering 10 patents
in just a few years. - With many motobikes (1975-1985) (Kawasaki, Honda,…)
he raced and obtained high speed in straightway and in turn, 260
km/h. With
Go- Karts, self tuned, he won the Catalan and Spain Championship.
He discovered
a “gap” in the rules for Go- Kart Racing (they forgot
to say 4 wheels in a kart) and used it to set up his Kart with
a 5th
wheel
at the
rear
left, which gave him an advantage driving the kart…but
the Spanish Federation changed the rules quickly.
- Racing with his SUPERKART 250 Yamaha in hill-climb competitions, Pietro invented
a "air-shock absorbing system" inside the tire of the kart and won the Spanish
Mountain championship.- His racing prototype car LOLA 2000
T/297 (first served with a BMW 2000 cc. 4-stroke engine) was
modified with
a 2000 cc., 2 stroke, 6V cylinder,
EFI Mercury outboard engine (from powerboats U tunnel, of the World Championship).
He made tuning (torque:up to 40mKg) and adaptation to the car. It was
published by Mercury Marine in a World Inform Press and in the
magazines: AUTOSPRINT (Italy),
YATE
e MOTONAUTICA (España), VELOCIDAD and El Mundo Deportivo (España).
The english car LOLA was right-drive, but Pietro changed to
left-drive.
- In 1985 Pietro Raddi started racing on the water,
at Inshore World Championship Powerboat U-Hull, F1 MERCURY
SERIES (2000cc)
- At
4th race (Hannover-D) he was running 4th within 26
drivers from all over the world.
For all these results, he was received &
honoured
in Madrid by HH.MM Juan Carlos III, King of Spain.
